Sandbox Industries works to implement innovation broadly. We partner with corporate organizations and help them make connections with the innovators/entrepreneurs working to disrupt and change areas of key strategic importance. The primary medium for this work is venture capital. In line with our larger mission, Sandbox Industries has served as the exclusive provider of investment management services to the Blue Venture Funds for over a decade. The Blue Venture Fund is a unique collaboration between BCBS companies, BCBSA, and Sandbox to which thirty-six BCBS companies have committed over $800 million across four funds. The Blue Venture Fund invests in promising emerging companies of strategic relevance to Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Plans and provides the portfolio with access to BCBS companies to deploy innovation at scale. The team is looking to add an Executive Assistant in Chicago, IL to support busy Partners and manage our Chicago office space. Key responsibilities and required skills include:

Responsibilities: • Manage an ever-changing calendar and handle frequent, last-minute scheduling adjustments • Coordinate travel arrangements including air and ground transport, hotel accommodations, and meal reservations • Provide administrative and operational support to team members as needed, including expense reporting • Schedule/coordinate meetings, conferences, and special events • Serve as the point person for office operations and procedures • Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as necessary • Identify opportunities for process and office management improvements, and design and implement new systems • Oversee and support all administrative duties in the office and ensure that office is operating smoothly • Handle highly confidential information with the utmost discretion • Manage information flow in a timely and accurate manner

Requirements: • 2 – 4 years of administrative experience supporting someone at the manager, director, or executive level • Bachelor’s degree • Ability to interface with high-profile clients and consistently exude a pleasant, polished, professional image • Ability to complete projects with little direction or hand-holding • Desire to work in an entrepreneurial and dynamic environment • Proactive, detail-oriented, self-starting team player that can also work independently • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage several tasks simultaneously • Strong communication skills (oral and written) • Proficient with relevant software programs (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite) Sandbox is currently operating as a virtual organization.
